Last two weeks

So this is about the only kind of journaling I will ever get around to doing, which means that if you have a problem with it being too long, tough.

Okay so day after Christmas me and Savanna went hiking with her friends on Camelback mountain, which is a super fun hike but the only gripe I have with it is that it is always so crowded. Holy heck. Parking is a nightmare, and even hiking is hard because you have to keep passing around people and waiting for people to pass, it's all just a big mess. However, once you get to the top it really is worth it! The views are fabulous, and you can pretty much see the entire valley from the top. You don't realize how big the valley of the sun really is until you can see it from up high. So great. And then coming down is more fun than coming up, because you jump from boulder to boulder and try to see how fast you can run down.

During the next week I worked a couple more times, and then I got ready to go on the cabin trip from Thursday night to Saturday afternoon. It was seriously one of the best cabin trips ever (although how can any cabin trip not be fun?) and I felt like I never wanted to leave. Thursday night we drove up, ate some delicious homemade chicken noodle soup, watched a movie, and basically had a big sleepover. It's a pretty small cabin and so with the 10 of us it was pretty crowded. The next day we slept in, had breakfast, played some card games, went for a beautiful walk around the woods, and then headed to Pine to visit the awesome thrift store they have there. Oh my goodness. I don't visit thrift stores that much but this one was a winner. We all walked away with some pretty crazy (and cheap!) stuff. I got a legit Polaroid camera that is in perfect condition, I just need to find some film for it! And I got it for only a dollar, it made me so happy. I also got this hilarious sweater that has horses all over it, it's actually pretty awesome. Good for an ugly sweater party, however everyone kept saying that you could find something like that at urban outfitters, haha! So yeah, the thrift store was a highlight and a huge success. After a movie and naptime at the cabin we then headed to Payson for dinner at El Rancho and a trip to Walmart, the boys really wanted a slingshot to kill birds and squirrels with. They crack me up.

We headed home Saturday afternoon in time to get ready for the festivities of New Year's Eve! It was a pretty fun but also fairly calm night. I hung out with my family and some family friends until about 11, we ate some delicious food and played card games. I then left to go find my friends and hang out with them for the stroke of midnight and parties afterwards. We were at the Polar Ice YSA party (last time I'll do that, full of 18 year olds!) for midnights, and then we went to the Schwartz's house for "breakfast" and then ended up going to IHOP to meet up with some other people. It turned out pretty fun, although I was tired before midnight even rolled around. I must be getting old.

New Year's Day I slept in and went to church at one, then that night was Hannah's open house! There was SO MANY people, she is a pretty popular girl :) It was so fun though to see everyone, because I was also leaving that week to come back up to Provo. Monday I had the random idea to go hike my favorite hike, Flatiron, and so a small group of us headed out in the morning to go tackle the Superstition Mountains! I love that hike because it is a challenge but the views from the top are better than any other hike. It was pretty crowded for the first time that I can remember. Tons of people living up to their new years resolutions, I guess!

Speaking of- my new years resolutions usually have something to do with fitness and running, and this year is  no different. I'm already signed up for two half marathons (SLC in April and Utah Valley in June) and I am so excited to run them with my friends and roommates! I've already started training because I want these two races to be my best. Depending on how I feel after the June one, I might sign up for the Ragnar here in Utah and the Top of Utah full marathon in September. Whew. Lots of running this summer but I am so excited for it! Another goal that will come with this is to lose 10-15 pounds by spring break. It is only 9 weeks away but I bought lots of healthy food and I am so committed it is not even funny! I want to have a good lookin bod for summer :)

For now I am back in Provo (got back Tuesday night) and enjoying getting back into a real routine and going to the gym. Oh, how I have missed the gym! It snowed today after being so warm for the last couple days, but I don't mind because the snow is beautiful, and it wasn't even that much :) School starts on Monday, and I am actually super excited/nervous. Haven't had a real school schedule in a long, long time. Welp, maybe I'll post some pictures from my Christmas break adventures later, right now I think this post is long enough. Much love!
